I'm going to cuse next year and just wondering where the best place to ski would be. Just looking to ski at a fun mountain mediocre park at least. Anything come to mind?

Lab. Great features, about 12 new as of this year, full time crew. Need I say more? I drive out 2 hours on a few weekends to ride there for a $45 lift ticket because I'm sick of my park.
Togg is a hell hole, they don't do maintenance EVER. Song doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I wouldn't even consider them.
Here's an edit I did at Lab so you can take a look at the features/layout:

fuck off togg is nice. plus i should be on park crew next year.
if you're more beginner though, definitely lab. togg has big scary features.

*sketchy
Have fun digging while everyone else rides...and when you come back to the top to ride, your work is ruined.

i will promote togg as long as i live. this year was shitty but were in the middle of a transfer or management of park and it might take a year or two to get everything figured out.

And until you can prove that you can get it back to Nick Mir's level of park cleanliness/organization, I can't recommend it to people on NS.
Don't get me wrong, I love Togg and want to see it grow into something even better than I've seen it in the past. Lab won me over this year, maybe Togg can win me back

i hate to say it but toggs sketchy nature is due to the fact that gay fucking management won't let us have park on the left side of main... it was so good there. there is so little to work with on the trail it's on now, that's why it was declining (sorry if you read this nick! or nick!) several years before nick left. the trail management gives us for park is retarded.
however most of the park crew goes to school, doesn't live very close, etc. and almost all are volunteer. you can see why it's hard to maintain togg's park.

Oh, I'm not disputing how difficult it is to maintain over there, I completely understand. I just wouldn't recommend it to anyone who knows nothing about the area, that's all

one thing togg did have over lab i believe is more features/ options and more variety. down box, ollie on box, flat rail to drop, two dfds, donkey dick, barrel taps and log jams, a hip, a pole jam to bonk, truly urban style rails, etc.

just realized that lab does have a hip. and a few funky boxes and their staircase, but nothing was truly kinked or anything. this could be in favor of either lab or togg depending on what you like.

Neither hill got to 100% potential, but you're again implying that Togg's features were actually hit-able without certain death to follow.
I would rather ride Lab's well flowing, clean featured park any day to Togg's park, excluding Togg's opening weekend of a new build. After that, all downhill

Nahh, I live about an hour East but make plenty of trips out to 'Cuse with friends. Wrapping up my senior year of high school this year

Haha, no way in hell I can afford that. I'm sticking to SUNY schools close to home.
But I'll tell you what, I'll add you on my friends list and I can definitely give you rides out to Lab and Togg when I go next winter. I go right by 'Cuse all the time when I go out. With college ID, Lab has $15 nights and Togg has $15 full days, so either place has good deals. Plus I'm considering getting a Saturday pass to Lab anyways.
But I would rather pay $48 to ride Lab in the day, sorry Ben

Damn, this thread just sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions... haha I miss Togg and you clowns who ride there. To OP, give everything in the area a shot. On any given day the parks at Lab and Togg could be epic or they could be terrible. It's all a part of where you guys live and the way the mountains are run. All I know is that the vibe you get while sessioning at Togg is the best I've ever come across, and trust me, I've rode a lot of places. I'll be back at Togg some day and whenever that happens I can guarantee the park will become a priority again. Until then, enjoy what's out there for you and have fun shredding with your friends!

let me clarify why the park isn't on main.....
I transfered to Syracuse University from fall 2009 through spring 2011. my first season I wanted to be involved more with other skiers so i decided it might be cool to join the race team. I did, and learned a shit ton of carving techinque. anyway, the Syracuse coaches get first dibs as to what goes on there in some regards. if they want the left side of main to be a practice race course, its going to be a race course. its really about what generates the most money. ski racing does just that, as far as togg is concerned. actually, ski racing ALWAYS generates more money than freestyle, unless your from ohio!
I remember one time going to practice and one of the coaches drilled a hole for the starting gate on top of the knuckle for a sizable rail. (you need a nice little decline at the start of any race gate.)
i said to coach, "but now no one can hit the rail"
he said something like, "yea, so??"
i was like, "uhhhh, okay coach"
im sure theres some other local race teams that effect it also.
anyway, just move west when you graduate

Yeah, sure, all of this is true.
The fact of the matter is that the mountain can do whatever they want in the end based on their vision of what they want for their business. It's up to them, obviously money plays a big part in it.
If that's what Togg wants to do, so be it. There's nothing we can say about it, we're second rate to the racers, plain and simple. That's why I just go to where it works out best for me (ie. Lab).
I don't get how Ben can defend the the life out of Togg, because Lab shits on it now. And OP needs an unbiased answer for the question, exclusive of our sentimental attachments to our home mountain.
I will tell you plain and simple, Lab is better than Togg, no doubt about it.
And even if Togg does have a "better year" than Lab, (which WON'T happen unless park is back to where it was), it still works out better for you to get a pass at Lab and then make trips to Togg than vice versa. Can't beat $15 tickets for college students at any hour of the day
