My boots are ancient and its time I buy some new ones for next year so I was just wondering which ones do people like better? or are there any other ones you would recommend looking at
spk are heavy but comfy. i never get bang in em but i have the pro's which have this little soft spot on the toe and with two buckles they flex alot which i love. I have a friend that has tilts and gets bang all the time but hes a park rat and im not so ya. Buy whatever is more comfy. also look at dabello kryptons some ppl have good success with em. check out gear talk bc im sure there are 1000000000000 threads about this
Last year I had a pair of SPK Kreations which I ordered online without trying on first. Very high quality but had shin bang like no other. This year I got a pair of FT Classics and tried them on before I bought them. Hardly any shin bang whatsoever, but at the end of the season almost all of my buckles were broken, either they wouldn't budge or they would slide to the loosest notch. Also in my FTs from time to time I got this really sharp pain, like a poking, just to the right of my shin on my right leg. This year I'm hoping to go to a shop to try on some more SPKs and hopefully fit well into a pair.
Sparknotes: Go to a bootfitter, or at least somewhere that you can try them on and hope the SPKs fit you better than full tilts because they're durability is off the scale compared to FT.
some good advice, so you don't go out and waste money. dont be set on only 2 pairs. theres a chance that neither of these boots will fit you. go to a boot fitters, let them fit you up and get the boot that fits you best! otherwise your boots will suuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Yes I know that Shinbang doesn't determine whether a boot fits or not. Unfortunately living in the middle of Wisconsin I don't have access to a bootfittter.
except for the booters. But yeah get full tilts for sure i love my classics, but i do have a narrow foot so if ur foot is really wide idk u might want to get spks or just get the booters
Alright thanks for all the suggestions but I have no idea where to find a boot fitter. im from the middle of Minnesota and all we have is a cross county ski shop! its awesome but anyone from MN know where one would be? Duluth maybe?
As I am only 14, haters gon hate, my feet have grown a lot in the past 2 years. I've gone from a size 9 to a 11.5. So yes in this point of my life I have been. To Heath, I said in my first post that I ordered the SPKs without trying them on and they fit my foot horribly. The full tilts did fit.
