Alpha 1/Halo vs AR7

I want to try the new elf shoe tech and specs that come with the halo and alpha, they sound sick, but I also want to be able to rip the groomers up, really hard carves, and I've heard alot of different things about how the rockered park skis perform on the piste.
Can anyone with these skis PLEASE tell me if they can ACTUALLY carve HARD on the piste??

new elf shoe technology? its been around for a bunch of years now.
my friend has alpha 2s and ive switched skis with him and used them for a few days. as far as on piste, they pretty much blow. if you wanna a good 50/50 ski id go ar7. BUT id also go with the alpha before the halo just cause of the spin tips on the halo. when i demod them they just felt awkward while turning on groomers

^ as above, A1's suck trying to carve hard, same goes for halos.
AR7's are dope if you're into shredding the whole mountain with a park ski, they're pretty sick. THalls are money as well, just bought myself a pair

alpha 1's are basically same as halos but alphas are stiffer and have race bases. all things considered they both do awesome in pow but def get chattery at high speeds. if bombing groomers is your forte go with ar7 hands down

halo's are incredibly fun to ride switch. They have the tightest most solid switch carves out of anything i've ridden. Going forwards the tight radius is perfect for carving off lips and makes cruising the mt at slow to meduim speeds pretty fun. At high speeds the skis begin to chatter. Definitely an expected side effect since you're running 25+ cm less effective edge from reg camber

I've got AR7s and since my east coast mountain has a shitty park half my time is spent just carving groomers and the race courses, they work great and are stiff enough that they can handle speed

I ride alpha 1s and they do not do great in pow. They're ok in about 3-5", but anything more than that and they're like any other park ski in powder. Also, I found them weird and hard to ski on at first, but as I rode them more, I got more used to the shape of the ski. Once you get used to it, they are perfectly good all mountain skis. Not great, but not bad, either.

never ever would i take either of these "SUBMARINES" into powder. Theyd sink sooo fast. They have no waist, just cause there early rise doesnt mean you can do powder. Theres a difference between est park rocker and the est powder rocker... come on

I would have to agree with this. The halos and alphas are super fun for spring time slush and thick summer glaciers, but I would never entertain them for pow.

if you do sway towards halos, i just put mine up for sale

Have you ever tried it or are you just assuming?

ive literally done everything with mine and have had no problems weather its been cliffs, 1-2 feet of pow, bumps, or anything else off piste. look i'm not saying they're a powder ski, (and ive tried plenty of pow skis to know the difference). im saying its good in pow RELATIVELY SPEAKING to other park shredders/all mountain skis on the market.

when you say you would "never ever" take them into powder, and if you only had halos or alphas, does that mean you'll sleep in and quit skiing when it snows?? keep in mind, most of us cant afford multiple pairs of skis so we end up compromising and making things work.
