ya its mainly features, like u can't work in true 24fps in express only pro supports it. its mainly just little stuff like that. the newest version of express finally supports real time i think, i heard that the older version didn't. but i may be wrong on that

Pretty much if you are using it for DV and are going to pay full price which is either 300 for FCE or 1000 for FCP, you would probably want to go with express. I'm sure you can get either one for free also.

i believe that that FCP has high def support whereas express doesn't

Pro may have more transitions, but having lots of transitions really isn't all that important. I think that the best transitions (and most editiors would agree) are cross dissolve (along with some of the other dissolves,) Fade, and Wipe transitions, which both programs have. Unless your editing in HD or 24p, Final Cut Express is probably the better choice, becasue it is a lot cheaper and has most of the features you could want.
