Broken Ankle and Soul

I received an Plate and 4 screws in my ankle to realign it with my tibia, and i fractured my fibula from a trampoline accident just last week. I was really looking forward to my wakeboard season, but i may be taking it easy to ensure i will have good ski season next year, as I will be living in Montana! Just curious if any of you have had pain because of plates and such in your ski boots, i may end up having to remold my liners i guess, but i think i'm more depressed about the situation the anything. Being stuck on the couch sucks... Im really hoping my ankle is feeling 100% for next ski season!

i broke my ankle and got 5 screws and a plate around sept, i forget the exact date. but man was ski season brutual. actually do physical therapy, i was too cheap to go to a proffesional and it really fucked my ski season. zero progression at all this year and was barely able to ride for more then 3 hours an outing cause the pain would be unbearable. just take it easy, and no matter what do not try to come back too early like i did. your just gonna injure it more. good luck broski and vibes

Dang dude that sucks... Luckily for my situation the excitement of hitting the slopes isnt until next season so i will be able to focus in the PT alot!

i broke my fibula and tore some tendons in my ankle and needed a plate and screws as well. Im still a couple of months away fro full recovery but I can say that watching a lot of TV and movies and reading a lot helped. I used the opportunity to get in  in touch with my inner nerd , watched all of battlestar galactica, read lord of the rings, read the inheritance cycle, and watched all of the miyazaki films, oh and some trailer park boys

heres my ankle a week and a half ago, broke it march 14th. skateboarding. Shit boring as fuck, I cant work so I couldnt affford my apartment and had to move back in with my parents. Im 21 years old and I cant have a fucking girl in my room. Pray for me NS....

I broke my ankle that bad and had it set perfectly, didnt need surgery just a cast and no weight for 5 months... fucking sucked. Ankles suck, that shit is gonna fuck you for life!

Dang, your scaring me saying its a life injury... If I can't ski at 100% shoot me now, but then again, tanner hall is stilla sick skier so I feel like we should be fine, especially if we who have injuries take PT really serious

nah its cool dude, I broke mine pretty bad, got a plate, a wire and 6 screws and I just got back from a week skiing for the first time since it happened (2.5 years). spent most my time in the park hitting kickers and its fine.  do your physio properly, and stretch it a lot. building the muscle back up is a pain though. arthritis later in life maybe but whatever
