so in order to stir some contreversy between the all powerful women of NS and the men... im going to post some statistics and observations I have learned from my psychology of women and gender class. mwaahahahahaha. please no hostility. if you feel that you will resond in an inapproriate manner.... click the back button now.
For centuries women have been identified as being the weaker sex because men have always been seen as having the omnipotent power to do anything except nurturing... which apparently women do better according to our social culture.That is to say that men have been looked at as having the abilities to do pretty much everything better than women.
Alot of times people make gender assumptions such as .... women are bad drivers. women are always good with children. women are neat and tidy and men are slobs. women are manipulative. men are more stoic than women. these are all common myths that are simply generalizations.
where do these assumptions come from? well some people say personal experiences, but they only focus on those in the sex that are doing something that is abnormal or defiant of what is masculine... that is to say men are bad drivers too. other people say that they have read studies or have read articles that verify that women are this or that and men are this or that. MOST psychological articles that you read (before 2002) are studies done on MEN only and then their conclusions are generalized for women. Researchers and societal culture alike have not been valueing women and their experiences.
recently there have been studies in men and women to find out their emotional similarities and the findings were astoudning.... were practically the fucking same! culture teaches the women how to cry at the drop of a hat and for men to buck up and go hit someone.
