Honestly i think the skate deck construction is a gimmick. Its heavy and doesn't hold up as well as its advertised imo, however, i have heard stepups hold up a bit better than a bangs if you were wondering. Chronics are a solid choice, there a little wider, all mountain oriented and they'll likely last longer than stepups. stepups on the other hand are park oriented skis and i believe a bit stiffer
This. Skateboard construction is all just a gimmick. I ride the chronics and love them. Their a stiffer ski buy a bit heavy in my opinion but theyve held up rather well. I cant speak for the step ups.
yeah the step ups are meant to be a stiffer ski and are more for jumps rather than rails, i think they have a race base and you can pick up quite a bit of speed on em. if your going to do more rails and ski all mountain i wouldn't get the step ups since they are mainly for park and when there isn't heaps of snow out..
imo definitely the chronic. The step up in my opinion is a really stupid ski. The whole point of making the skatedeck construction was really flexy. But then they took the skate deck construction and made it a stiffer jump ski. So the way I see it is, super flexy material for jibbing then make it stiff and use it jumps. Why not just take traditional material if there not going for flexy as hell? idk i'd go chronics my buddy has them i've rode them and love them
