Looking for a good AT binding

Getting soem new skis, thinking of getting some Alpine Touring Bindings.  You guys got any input?  Don't backcountry much mostly inbounds.

wait till next year and buy the guardian/tracker that is going to be the best binding on the market.

Haha my bad I just read the thread title. OP, disregard my post. The new tracker/guardian or the duke are your best bets.

Check out the MFD AllTime.  You mount your Alpine Binding onto the touring plate and are ready to go.  Not the lightest setup, but its bomber.  Now they have a Switch Kit, so you can easily swap the whole plate and binding setup between skis.

this except not the tyrolia one, the heel release mechanism is poorly designed in my opinion.

but the new tracker/guardian is unreal, so easy to use and has hardly any stack height. it's legit.

Wow, quality info here.

Since you are doing mostly inbounds the Duke/Baron/Salomon AT bindings will work best since they are pretty bomber. The caveat: heavy and not great for long tours.

Fritschi bindings are lighter and are ideal for longer tours. These bindings put you higher on the ski and are less bombproof.

Ultimate touring setup = Tech binders like Dynafit. While people do ski these inbounds plenty I sure as shit wouldn't be too comfortable with it. This is the absolute lightest set up however, great for looooong tours. You do need to buy a new boot with tech inserts though.

I got some fritschis this year, put them on my Made N AKs. I like them a lot. There is definitely more "roll" in the binding when you are turning compared to downhill bindings, but I only notice on hardpack, and the point is to ski some pow right? Otherwise touring is fun as fuck. Fuck ski lifts man I probly won't even buy a pass next year.

Why has no one asked what boot are you using?

This is kind of important since boots are bindings need to be compatible with each other when talking about DIN and A/T norms. A normal DIN boot will not fit into Dynafit-style binding, and an A/T norm boot is not indemnified with a DIN-only binding.

So, do you plan on buying new boots as well or keeping the boots you currently use?

If you are mainly skiing inbounds, why get a Dynafit-style boot/binding setup? It will ski fine, but you will not be getting the most out of your $1000+ boot/binding combo. Go with some sort of frame binding (Atomic Tracker/Salomon Guardian or Marker Duke/Baron). It will be the better set up for you.
