Voleurz and Jiberish

Last night while watching all 14 episodes of chug life and seeing Chugs switch from Jiberish to Voleurz I basically realized how similar the two companies are. Both sponsor snowboarders and skateboarders along with skiers, both make some sort of film/edit every year, both are a pretty tight group of homies who are always skiing together and stuff and their garments are both incredibly high quality.

Essentially Jiberish is just an American version of their Canadian counter part or vice versa.

If you had the choice what team would you be put on? I feel like the voleurz team would be more fun and their clothes are still fucking awesome.

Who would you choose NS?

Voleurz!
They're more of a company that seems to give back to the sports, they're more approachable and they're clothing isn't so limited or elite. Also they're more fun!
Jiberish doesn't seem as approachable

Niether, shit's wayy too expensive. Why buy one of their sweatshirts when I can get 3 blank ones for that price and paint/tie dye them myself?

I don't have any voleurz, but I'm starting to like their stuff more than jiberish. I prefer other companies though.

Minor thread hijack, but wasnt chug on both Saga and Jiberish at one point? is he the only skier to ever do this?

Oh and as much as I like jiberish, I woud chose voleurz.

in response to the thread, i haven't ever really looked at voleurz. i agree with what you said about how their riders seem like they are a lot closer. i do enjoy the high quality of jiberish and most of the styles.

No question about it. Voleurz all day. Honestly count out the Voleurz guys...the line up is fucking stacked and they're all super sick guys. From Max Hill to Riley Leboe, those guys kill. And in my opinion, the movie they put out for free every year is about ten times better than any Jiberish video that I've seen!

Well actually just checked the Jiberish site and apparently chug is still part of the "family". Weird seeing as he is always wearing voleurz/in their movies and stuff.

It's super easy. You can find tie-dye kits at most craft stores for cheap and they actually work quite well. Once you got the hang of that, you can get into the more advanced process with the pre-treating and select your own dyes one by one.

Spray painting is a bit more tricky, requires a little art know how and some knowledge into the in's and out's of spray cans, paint selection, nozzles, and how to write stuff with spray paint that doesn't look dumb. But the learning curve isn't really that bad.

Both methods are really cheap and last forever. I have shirts I dyed and painted 7 or 8 years ago that still look fresh today. And it sure beats paying insane prices for a damn sweatshirt. Who can afford that shit? Even when I lived at home as a kid, I would never have my parents buy me something that overpriced let alone shell out for it myself. The way I see it, you make your own shit, it's original and cheap as hell...win-win.

the tie dye definitely seems like it doesn't take too much sweat and cussing to learn. with what you've just said about the spray painting, well it seems like i have something to keep me occupied during the off season! (don't get annoyed if you receive and random pm's about them :p)

spray paint works well on clothing? I've only done it once and it turned out pretty bad. Must have been my paint selection...

I'll gladly answer paint related PM's.

Spray paint does work well on clothing, but you have to make sure you're only painting one layer at a time. So if you have a T-shirt, you gotta put a board in the middle or what not, so it doesn't bleed from one side to the other. And you gotta make sure you don't overkill it by spraying too close to the fabric or too many times over the same spot. Once you get the hang of it though, it's super easy to make some dope stuff that says whatever the hell you want it to.

One very important piece of advice, if you paint illegally, be careful and do NOT write the same thing you write illegally on shirts that you wear around :)

It is pretty expensive but the material Voleurz uses is so comfortable and really good shit, buy a Voleurz tee and see what I mean.

Cotton is cotton and no way I could ever spend $35 on a tee shirt, that's insane. I gotta pay rent and feed myself, not to mention you can get 3 tees for 9 bucks at Costco, and they are really soft and very well made, last for many years. You could literally get 12 tees for the price of one Voleurz shirt...

all cotton is not equal. There is a reason that blanks from the same manufacturer range from less than 3$ to upwards of 12$, or say, sheets/towels going from 5$ to 1000$ for something nice.

Oh please, what kind of pre-madonna is concerned about the thread count on their tee-shirts? It's a fucking tee shirt!! Granted it's not some ridiculously thin piece of shit, cotton is cotton. The $3 shirts I buy from Costco are thick and soft, and last for years and years.

This ridiculous mentality of "I need the finest cotton in all of egypt" is absurd. Ski kids shouldn't have the same thought process as teenage girls shopping at Nordstrom, but it seems like that's the way we're headed.

For fabric used in shirts, there are a ton of variables that matter. For t-shirts, weight, treatment methods, ribbing materials, material blends all factor in to the final cost of the tee.

jiberish is pretty lame, some of their old stuff was cool but everything the release is way for expensive than its justifiable, voleurz seems like a way cooler company still with way overpriced shit but it seems their more positive, less arrogent and just overall better vibes

Neither - I've been gradually transitioning away from tall-fitting clothes for streetwear, and neither company sells normal-fitting streetwear clothes. Slim-fit is one thing, but having a small fit as long as most mediums/larges just sit right with my frame/height.

I agree. Anybody who buys these brands is heavily overpaying. There is a plethora of brands out there that give you better designs (purely opinion/taste), fit, and material for less than half the price.

I have said it before, and I'm going to say it again.

You Jiberish/Supreme/10deep/alife/mishka/obey whores are chumps :/

Sorry, just go for a walk (this requires going outside, that means logging out of PLNDR and closing Karmaloop) down to any town or city's retail district and look around. Support local businesses while paying less for better quality clothing. Win-win.

He is addressing any potential graffiti artist not to put their tag on the shirt. I mean, any graffiti artist renowned by police enough to be arrested for wearing a shirt with his handstyle on it would probably know not to do that anyways
