Alright NS, i need your bright minds to tell me where i went wrong and what would work better. I was attempting to make a monogrammed melted crayon canvas for this girl, and i thought i had a pretty good plan. I printed out a good font of her initials, traced it onto duct tape, then cut it out with an exacto knife, and put it on the canvas, planning to peel it off after melting the crayons for a monogrammed finish. Unfortunately that didnt really happen...

As you can tell the melted crayon so home got underneath it and it pretty much looks like shit. So any ideas on what would work better than this idea? Different tape maybe?

Also, 2,000th post. Whoop.

try again with a better sealed stencil that reads "anal?" instead

Maybe masking tape? Thats used for painting and may be a tighter seal.

you could also carefully paint the area inside the font in white to match the canvas?

blue painters tape would probably do better than duct tape

Honestly I think you're gunna have trouble with any adhesive, since I assume the wax is hot when it hits the tape...

I wouldn't change it at all. Sometimes imperfections add to a piece of art. I think it looks good as it is.
