Picture quality

I think most of us have just grown to live with the quality of pictures on ns getting their colors sapped, unless you click to see the full size image.

To the rednames, is there a fix for this?

It is definitely possible... in general its all about page load time, which is why decisions like this get made. We could look at optimizing the photo pages (I assume you're talking about the photo gallery pages right?) to get better performance and better quality.

that's what i was thinking, with regards to load time

optimizing the photo section seems like a good idea, in the forums i think it's alright, because in places where quality matters(m&a, photo cult, etc.) people know to click

On the other side of that issue, it's also kind of annoying to click on someone's photo only to get some 4000 pixel wide monstrosity I can't even look at. Or maybe I should just get a bigger monitor...
