Story Time! So today April 1st I was filming with my t2i and DIY glidecam to get the end of the season action. About two runs in I was just heading down and most of my friends cff on one run, but me and a different friend go down a different trail. So we are just going down hauling ass and we get to a spot were you can either go left or right in between trees. I take a big carve to the left and I was going to head to the right side because there is less grass. My friend looks like he is going the same way but carving to the right. I had my camera in hand on the glidecam. It turns out he thought I was going to the left and I thought he was going to the right. We are going the exact same speed and end up carving into each other and crash hard core. We both yard saled, my pvc weighted glidecam shattered in three pieces. My lens was laying on the snow about ten feet from. My friend Alec was bleeding from his face and my knee hurt like a bitch. The only thing that stayed on me was my T2i body. So we chilled for a little bit, both in pain. Eventually got up. Some guy had gotten our stuff for us and then I put another lens on my camera. It turns out my camera seems to be working perfectly and once I cleaned off the lens that flew off it actually still worked managed to not break it. The body was split apart a little, but I popped it back together. Now I am at home laying on the couch icing my knee and deeling with my shoulder just thanking god I am not more injured.
Also on my first day of the season I over rotated a backflip and landed on my neck. Getting a concussion and moving a vertebrae in my neck. So that is how my season started and how it ended. With my worst two crashes of the year. Some how my camera isnt broken also, which is a plus.
If only my camera was turned on when it happened. Anyway, now I am not making an end of the season edit due to the fact that I only filmed two runs. So here was the last of the season for me.
Spring forward. from Taran Egner on Vimeo.
*Moral of the story, T2i's are absulutely beast and sometimes you have to end your season with a bang.
