My town used to be a sick place to be a skier back in the day, something like 5 decent hills all very close to town, most no more than 10 minutes away actually. One of the smaller hills was actually on the city bus route. One of those hills even had an excellent water ramp set-up, however b/c of an aging population and some other stuff, a bunch of them closed down, and now we are left with only two hills. The one hill has a straight awful attitude towards park riders, barely any recognition for us. we have to fund and built the park pretty much all on our own, the hill does not own ANY of the jibs in their park, all of them were donated/made by the community. The other hill is far more receptive to the idea of having a good park, however they just legitimetaly do not have the resources or the experience to really deliver what we would like to see.
Pictures of Big Thunder, closed in 1995, once home to the only water ramp set-up in Ontario as far as I know:

Empty pool, ramps, and snowflex all just sitting there rotting away, such a bummer.
