HD Camcorder for game film (Lacrosse)

I know another thread on "what camera" but this one isnt for skiing and I'm not too experienced with cameras as a lot of people are here. I figured I could get some quick suggestions and I'll be good

I looked in the "what camera" thread so here we go:

Budget - $500

Not too experienced of a user. Would like to just be able to hand it to a parents during a game, have it set up on a tripod and have them pan across the field during game play

Currently have a tripod but its not a very good one so suggestions for one around 50-100 would be great. Really want one that has a handle thats easy for panning side to side smoothly

This will be used for mainly game film. Maybe some off field stuff but not really. That being said, would like to be used for both day light and night light (under lights though on turf)

I currently edit the videos with Vegas. I'm an experienced editor so would like a camera with at least 60fps for a few slow motion shots

Would prefer not to break the bank. $500 is the max really so anything cheaper that will do is recommended please.

You could buy just a tripod head. The Weifend 717AH is the best you can get for under 100.

Not sure if you're tryna stack film for college recruiting or just for fun but I'll do my best to help you out...

Get a canon HV40/30/20. When I was trying to stack footage for college recruiters I got fucked because the camera my dad bought to film my games saved the files to .MTS files. As a mac user that fucked me over HARD and I lost about 3 weeks of footage from camps/tourneys. The HV40 will import as a more user-friendly format.

I was looking into that canon series too. I've heard good things about them. It may be outta my price range but are there any cameras with auto focus and 60fps that I could take a look at? I was looking at the Sony HDR-CX260V/B ( http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666415402)
