hi there, i'm looking to find a good long-range lens to take pics skiing. Took some pictures last weekend and the shots are fine, except i can't zoom enough. i have currently a nikon d3100 with a nikkor 55-300mm lens, any tips? (camera noob here)
If you can't zoom in enough to take pictures at 300mm, you're probbaly doing something wrong. I don't mean that in a rude way, but 300mm on your camera is REALLY long.
well i'm just reading the top of the lens, so maybe i'm wrong about the 300mm bit. basically i'm taking pics of backcountry/off piste areas, where the picture-taker is a goot couple of hundred metres away from the action.
