Sooo I finally finished school and need to find a job, and job hunting is probably one of the most shitty things in the world I was hoping the my fellow CO ns'ers could help me out. So if any of you out there know of any sweet places that are hiring (maybe where you work?) or have any suggestions or hook ups I would greatly appreciate it. There is a 30 rack with your name on it if you help me out.
i have a business degree but im pursing a career in video production. I make good money doing freelance gigs when ever i can but just dont have enough work at the moment to support myself so I'm really just looking for something that is fun, pays well and is semi flexible with scheduling
There are only about 3 or 4 big production companies in Colorado that pay a livable wage, High Noon is the biggest, you will most likely get a contract gig for a single episode or show season then it's back to the unemployment pool. I'm not sure what avenue of video production you're looking at, narrative, promo, event video but shits tough right now, lots of people. Starz also has offices, they might be looking for more business savvy people for distribution or something, or maybe they are just hiring cable techs... I'll tell you this, I've had a fulltime production job for a few years now, and have been shopping around for better gigs since day 1 and I haven't found anything better yet. Just make as many contacts as you can and you'll right time, right place it eventually. As far as fun, flexible and high paying, good luck with that trifecta.
