1.) My budget is no more than $1000, hopefully in the 500-700 range. I have used many different cameras including handycams, gopros, flips, and some DSLRs. My DSLR footage was not for action sports...just school projects. I would deff need more practice with one in action sports but overall i think i can handle the size and lens. I mainly use a GoPro at the moment.
2.) I have a crappy tripod and no audio equipment. Just random GoPro mounts and poles.
3.) If i get a new camera i really want an all purpose one. I plan on shooting inline, free running, wakeboarding and snowsports but i would also shoot homemade movies and the such...like fake gun shot mini action movie types.
4.) When we ski, we use a GoPro so mostly we use a tripod, helmet cam, hold it and film or follow cams. It is very useful because all my friends can film too. Really would like a camera where this may be possible. I would be willing to do some tripod work but the hassle of a DSLR has me worried a little. When i ski im not sure i want to lug everything around.
5.) I use sony vegas pro 10 right now to edit. I don't know my computer specs but it is made for this type of stuff.
So overall i'd like something versatile. I would like it if my dumb friends could film once in a while too. I love the feel of DSLRs with the lens and manual focus but im not sure if it'll be right for me. Seems like a hassle.
Hopefully there is a handycam-type camera out there with manual lens attachments?
