Kwantlen University College

does any1 know any information about this schol? like how big it is, how easy it is to gte in, anything at all about it? i am interested in going into fashion design and i have been to this schools website but i can't find any reviews on it, like on collegeboard.com or in any college books. thanks guys

not sure about the fashion program, but for the most part it sucks. my friends that go there hate it, its a shitty school. certain programs might be good though.

You're not going to find it on College board as it's not an American college. As for the quality of the school...well it's far from being the best school around. It's a small school in vancouver without much national or international merit. I remember hearing that it's fashion program is good, but I'm quite sure you could find a nicer university with a good fashion program.

actually college board even has UBC on it, so it does have canadian schools. yea i am getting kind of sketched out about the school cause i can't find out anything about it anywhere, i am glad to hear that basically its a shitty school, keeps me from getting my hopes up that there might be the peferct school for me out there, school in bc with a fashion program and big, yea..

It's not bad as far as colleges go. You could do a lot worse.



But, you can always fall back on your degree in... Communications! Oh, dear Lord!

A school in Vancouver that supposedly has a really good fashion program is LaSalle College

I know a girl who's going there.



But, you can always fall back on your degree in... Communications! Oh, dear Lord!

My good friend is a fashion design major right now and shes at University of Delaware, but Im sure you dont wana go there cuz of NO skiing but anyway she was tellin me the other good schools are either in europe or just goto NYU their program apparently is top notch.

At UBC, we refer to Kawntlen as 'Grade 13', because that's basically the attitude there. That being said, it's not a 'crappy school' by any means. It's a pretty nice place overall, and for a college, as someone said above, you could do a hell of a lot worse. The quality of professors is far lower than most UBC faculties, but they DO have course equivalencies, so in a lot of cases, credits at Kwantlen are transferrable to UBC if you feel like going to the big school later.

Plus, it's like 10 minutes from my house!

^So, to follow up on what JD is saying, you could, somewhat easily, use Kwaatlen or most other colleges in the Vancouver area as a backdoor into UBC.

Or just go to SFU like Trevorwoulddoit and I do...it's way easier to get into.

yea well i am pretty much already accepted into Savannah college of art and design, which is one of the best art schools in the country but i REALLY don't want to got there. i am looking at school in NY cause thats where my mom wants me, but i would love to goto school in canada, god this college search SUCKS

Er... Art Institute of Vancouver? I don't know much about it, but it does have a fashion program. Couldn't tell you anything else, but might be worth looking at.

um the art institute of van. is only like a 2 year school, you only geta dilpoma, not a degree and thats REALLY not kosher with the parents, also whats SFU?

Simon Fraser University.
Vancouver has 2 universities. UBC and SFU. Anything else is a college or an art school.
