A Non-Skiing Short Video

I made this for an assignment for my videography class this semester. Critiques are always welcome. Its my first full video with my 60D and all of the glidecam shots were in like 20mph winds which isn't ideal. other than that what do ya think?

ha yeah...it was supposed to be an apology note from him that she ends up reading after she does the deed, then feeling sorry but not feeling sorry for him after she remembers he cheated on him.  we got really pushed for time unfortunately so it feels a bit rushed around the end. but that was the gist of it anyway haha

ah ok. makes sense now. if you threw a shot in there of him actually writing the note, and maybe add a gunshot during a black transition, i feel like it would really help convey the message. maybe im just not too into abstract stuff and would rather know what the writer really wanted to say haha.

nice work tho man! despite the wind, that opening shot was money! and the colors looked really good too

thanks man! and yeah i agree, those were actually plans for shots and i think i we scratched the note writing scene right at the last minute but i agree that would have helped a bit.

Nice work. Really good shots that surpassed the skills of the actors. Not much you can do about it in a semester for a film class. Did you write the screenplay? Nice work with the editing too. I'm hoping to crank out a video like this in a month for a video production class, glad to see other NSers branching out

It needed more shots from several angles in some scenes. The shots dragged on I found. I think the story could have been told a little better with some more time put in, the whole thing feels rushed. It was a cool concept for the story, but as the director the audience doesn't always know what your'e thinking, short shots of simple things can convey a lot about the story without actually doing that much.

Apart from that I thought it was pretty cool! The glidecam shots were nice on the hill and the ending was good!

thanks! and yeah i just had a couple of friends help me out, definitely might look for some better actors for the next one. and yeah i wrote the screenplay and did all of the filming editing for it. if i had a little more of a crew i think it could have been a little better but glad you liked it

thanks for the feedback! and yeah i completely agree. we were pretty pushed for time and it shows a little but i was thinking of a few other quick simple shots to throw in that would help explain the story better but i think they just got overlooked when i started filming.
