there was a really good article in this month's issue of TIME magazine, near the back. It's written by a black author and basically discusses racism and prejudice against black males. He basically writes it as a letter to young black men and explains to them that they have to understand that racism exists and while unfortunate, that they have to be aware and act accordingly and avoid potentially dangerous situations or situations where people would get the wrong idea.


(what happened to trayvon martin was awful, and i'm not saying at all that because of how he was dressed it happened or anything like that. please don't think i was trying to imply anything like that)

i feel like there is really no debate on this topic. Even politically the right and the left both think that this incident should be investigated more, and that the Florida law is fucked up.

Also, I almost have no doubt in my mind that if the roles were reversed and a black guy shot a white kid he would be arrested on the spot with no questions asked.
