The true length of skis

Alright i and i guess many other skiers would like to know the true length of skis before we purchase them over the internet. Since i live many miles from a ski shop i dont have the ability to measure up the skis. As me being tall 6'4" i need all the length i can get. I know i need something in a 180+ length but many companies measure their skis by the length of the material before they are pressed so the length after the process will be shorter. I do know that companies measure long or true such as k2 and on3p. I would just like to know the specifics of other companies before other skiers like myself buy a ski that doesnt measure up. So if this means taking out your punx and a tape measure and getting the true tip to tail length please do. Gracias

Armada measures before pressing, so they always end up shorter, obviously more prominent on rockered skis, etc.

My Punx (As you requested,) are said to be 164 cm, and they measure out to be 160 cm

I once had a 180 or 182 Rossi (can't remember model) back to back with am Atomic blog 178, and the Rossi was about 4 cm shorter. Go figure. Recently tried the new Volkl Step 171 which seemed to be about 176 when holding in front of me.

I have 169 k2 extremes that seem longer than they are. I just recently got 181 ar7's and they dont seem that much longer than the 169

Line skis tend to measure 1-3cms shorter than listed
K2 is usually 3-5 longer than listed
Salomon is pretty true
Armada is pretty accurate as well

These are for non rockered twins and it is just my personal experience from selling sticks for years.

185 armada = 6'1" elray/arv
181 armada = 5'9" ar7/pc/th
182 armada = 5'10" halo/alpha
179 salomon = 5'9" 2012

well i deffinately know your ar7 measurement is correct. I got the 181 thinking it would be huge...and its really not as big as i thought. im 6'2 by the way
