How to make an edit with pretty bad footage?

i was skiing with some friends and one of the kids had his little brother shoot with a gopro, yet he didn't really have a clue how to use the camera or film. Now my friend wants me to try to make an edit out of the footage that is cut off really fast and only has clips that are blurry from snow or unstable. What would help make a video better with limited footage that isn't shot very well? I also have no footage of stuff that sort of just fills up time like panning shots of being in the lodge or just fooling around, nothing to make things for interesting. Just pure clips. What can I do?

you can try and polish a turd...but no matter how much you try its still gonna be a turd. basically, if the footage is shitty the video is going to be shitty, no way around it. i would say lets re-film the right way because for me, i won't even waste my time anymore with even average gopro shots cuz they don't look very good. you can try but if the video is bad you won't ever be satisfied with it
