Sorry Chaunceyskis, I couldn't wait to make the thread.

Post up videos of your favorite pros killing it, pics of some sick spots in your town, or videos of you landing a new trick, ask about tricks, give advice on tricks, discuss/review skates, and discuss the latest news in the world of aggressive skating!

Eventually, we could even use this thread for buying, selling, and trading parts or full skates.



First off, what are your thoughts on the beginning of powerblading? Kizer has just brought the concept into play in the aggressive rollerblading game with their new frames able to hold 4 80mm wheels while still allowing soul and negative plate grinds. Check the fourth and fifth edit for some powerblading shots.

I haven't heard much about the k2s. I do know that Allen lam rode the Varsity's at some point. The main reason I didn't get those was because the cuffs aren't v-cut. It's all personal preference though

I like the fluids a lot. They're very hard, zytel, and slide very fast. They were a bit taller than my old frames but i think they can hold larger wheels than mooks.

you can get skates for 150 on rollerwarehouse, check there, they have a section of skates that are 150 or less.

Can anyone give me some tips with trying top tricks? I want to try a top soul on a ledge so bad but not to keen on snapping my ankle..

your ankle probably won't snap but i definitely recommend doing topside tricks on taller stuff. If you miss on little ankle ledges you're going down hard. might as well just dive into the concrete at that point.
dan man might know, that feeling when you inadvertently cess slide something you meant to grind, or when your sole foot misses the topside part and slides on a ledge. or you just miss a rail and destroy your shin.

i just want those ledges. just something to practice on where if you miss you don't slide over a rail and rape your shins.

So I just got some skates and i can basically 180, 3, and switch 180 on flat ground. Not really sure what else to try. I'm still getting the feel for it. Should I try rails or hold up on that for a bit?

I haven't skated in years and never got very good at it but I always had a blast in the ramps so I would say try to find an small ramp and start playing around doing 180s and stuff in that. Should give you allot of balance and feel for the skates fast to since you have to make sure you don't fall backwards. And for sure start doing rails, watch some videos on youtube on different inlines grinds to so that you don't just end up railing like you would on skis. Try doing 180s up to small boxes and switch 3s off to, should be pretty easy since landing switch on inlines was at least for me easier since I wouldn't have to worry about leaning to much back.

I'm the opposite, I like taking off switch but landing switch is a little sketchy. Its only my first day though so I'll probably get used to it lol. Ive learned how easy it is to slip out too haha. I'm kinda nervous to try some ramps but I think I'm going to a park tomorrow so I'm gonna try it!

Cheap skates can be found at rollerwarehouse or aggressivemall, just look around on those places.

It might be tough now, but learning to land switch on blades is essential. You really don't see anyone dropping sets/gaps and landing forwards, because it's actually easier to take a landing switch.

Also perfecting landings on blades is a HUGE help when transferring back to skis. You will find yourself balanced right under your boots every time.

True! Yeah I kind of figured that out a bit last year. Doing like a sw 1 in a mini and landing switch is actually so much easier than I thought haha. I never really had a good park to skate at last summer but this year I'll be living at windells so I'm stoked to skate there and hopefully get a little better!
