Official Aggressive Skating Thread

Sorry Chaunceyskis, I couldn't wait to make the thread.

Post up videos of your favorite pros killing it, pics of some sick spots in your town, or videos of you landing a new trick, ask about tricks, give advice on tricks, discuss/review skates, and discuss the latest news in the world of aggressive skating!

Eventually, we could even use this thread for buying, selling, and trading parts or full skates.



First off, what are your thoughts on the beginning of powerblading? Kizer has just brought the concept into play in the aggressive rollerblading game with their new frames able to hold 4 80mm wheels while still allowing soul and negative plate grinds. Check the fourth and fifth edit for some powerblading shots.

Second, there is a lot of good advice on what type of skates suit you in this thread, as well as where to buy full skates/parts,(https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/615627/), all courtesy of a_pla5tic_bag

Nah it's all good, it was a buckle and strap and some eyelets. Just minor stuff haha. Also my chassis is cracked but I found a replacement.

Already been using it. Gets annoying after a while taping and peeling everywhere haha. Eventually it loosens as well.

Can anyone give me tips to make a p-rail? We Drilled some pvc into wood yesterday and it just snapped on us..

Maybe just get higher grade PVC, or maybe put less screws in and pre-drill the holes

Definitely pre drill the wholes and don't over-screw them into the wood, that causes crack. Best is to drill the screws in a fair amount until the head is just sitting above the PVC and then with a screw driver tighten until flush or a little below. All of this is done with an extension of course.

Just got a pair of Razors Cult Streets. They are so nice, holy shit. The difference between these and my last pair is crazy. They feel perfect underneath my feet. Just thought I'd share.

those edits are from the good ol' days. There was a steady blade scene in southern NH for years, its too bad everyones pretty much moved on to better things. Someday I'll return... Someday....

They are definitely dope skates if they fit your foot and dem liners are so plush. Just a bit of advice, once the razors liner in them dies get a pair of the heat mouldable USD carbon 4 liners, they are sex in cults.

Another question for you guys. I bought a pair of remz os3 about 2 years ago but never got the chance to use them cause they caused so much pain in the bottom of my foot where the arches are. I tried switching up the soles but it didnt help at all.. Not sure if I should just get a new skate thats comfier..

Yeah, some skates fit different types of feet better. My remz fit me amazing but I can't stand how valos feel. Just try on a different brand if you can.

Yeah, I tried on my friends jj lights and they fit perfect. I do have a wider foot and I was reading the remz weren't the widest so Ill probably try and sell my remz and pick those up then.

I mean, i wouldn't call it an upgrade really. It's just different. Personally never used CO's but I have used the GC's and I liked them. Why would you want to switch? People definitely like them but I don't know if it's worth switching if your frames still work. It won't make you able to do more tricks or anything and the difference in sliding would be minimal if at all since no one has bothered to go out and grind everything with both frames and note the difference it'd be hard to tell anyway. So, i'd say if your frames are trashed then go for it, try something new. If not, you could wait, you could try it new now. Worst that happens is you find they're not too different and you use them. You probably won't outright hate them.

personally i've now got super franken-carbon 2's. Modded them to take a phoenix liner, different buckles, i fiddled with the shell on the toe a bit by adding some padding to make it taller, and reskinned with the same grey skin. Fluid 4's with eulogies and uhmw anti's. pics eventually, i've got a biochem test tomorrow.

for realz though, any potential skaters probably won't ever skate cause they'll never see skating - no media, no shops, hardly any skaters to observe... and it's positive feedback, the less shops and media in the public eye, the less skaters there are, the less there are to buy stuff... you get the picture. not like the skating industry was in good shape anyway but, you know. /barelydead

I have a feeling that there will be a legit blade scene soon because of this and the new shop, and the skateboard scene will blow up.

Definitely check out Thuro, it is a sick shop run by Gabe Holm. He sold me my Carbons for 280, it was a sick deal and the man knows his stuff.

as the other dude said, I would recommend going to a legit shop to try on skates. Some good skates to start out on would be any Razors gens or SLs, USD 7s, RB solos or New Jacks if you have a wide foot. M12s or Valos, or either USD throne if you have skinnier feet. Carbons are good as well but pretty expensive. Remz and Xsjados are awesome skates but I wouldn't recommend starting out on them because they have so much flex and might make your technique weird when you switch to other more traditional skates.

ye who is trying new skates. You can start on anything, rollerblades would be fine. t won't matter as much cause you won't know the difference yet. Trying stuff on will be hard unless there really is a shop near you in which case you're beyond lucky.

The spring began as my friends all thought Aggressive Inline was dumb, and now I've converted them, and they are all purchasing skates themselves. Either I'm good at persuading people, or they've all seen how dope skating is. Stoked for summer!
