Sorry Chaunceyskis, I couldn't wait to make the thread.

Post up videos of your favorite pros killing it, pics of some sick spots in your town, or videos of you landing a new trick, ask about tricks, give advice on tricks, discuss/review skates, and discuss the latest news in the world of aggressive skating!

Eventually, we could even use this thread for buying, selling, and trading parts or full skates.



First off, what are your thoughts on the beginning of powerblading? Kizer has just brought the concept into play in the aggressive rollerblading game with their new frames able to hold 4 80mm wheels while still allowing soul and negative plate grinds. Check the fourth and fifth edit for some powerblading shots.

Second, there is a lot of good advice on what type of skates suit you in this thread, as well as where to buy full skates/parts,(https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/615627/), all courtesy of a_pla5tic_bag

Bump. I can skate again, back from broken ankle, however it snowed a foot this week so I only got to skate once, happy with skiing though.

I'm not sure yet. Probably the phoenix liners or the carbon 4 liners. Or i guess trust spec ops, which are really similar to the carbon 4 liners.

So I began skating last year for about 2 weeks and then again in this summer to make this edit. I am absolutely tragic at rails (still working on it) so there's no shots of that but check it out. I'd appreciate some feedback and tips on grinds/rails.

well you did a lot of skier tricks but you look better than most skiers who just started. I like that setup with that barrier or whatever in front of the ramp. If you can jump high, try hitting it from off the ground to practice grinds. looked like it was like your waist height so shouldn't be too hard. plus I find that jumping high onto things decreases your chance of getting hurt. Versus grinding a tiny object thats just off the ground, then you fall realyl far if you get tripped up.

Thanks man, and yeah I can only really do skier tricks, haven't really diversified and I will try hitting the barrier eventually, I've had my eye on it but I don't have the skill set yet.

I've started stripping the shells of my carbons to prepare them for modding. Well, I meant to start, I don't have any sharp razorblades to use. So far I've removed the bit of foam on the bottom but some of it is still there. I'm going to get some blades then I'll get down to business. I'm going to call RW tomorrow and see what they think about sizing for a C4 liner.

hahaha the manuals killed me
you obviously are comfortable skating around so do yourself a favor and learn to skate rails. it sucks at first and you'll fall and feel awkward since rails are completely different on blades. learn a soul grind first so you don't get stuck only doing frontsides and backsides like a bunch of skiers do when they rollerblade. you'll probably want to invest in some antis too. once you get a decent bag of tricks rails are so much more fun.

do you have relatively narrow feet? im not a fan of thrones cause they have a low heel and make me want to slip backwards. check out razor genesis skates, doesnt matter the model cause all the gen skates are the same just different color/frame options.

he has full tilts so I would say he has narrow feet. Thrones would fit him well, and if he doesn't want as much heel raise he should get ufs thrones. Also genesys are really wide.

considering the USD carbon 2's and 3's are now nearly a full season old, you could probably find a pair of the 2's for under 300 and potentially a pair of 3's for under 350

the USD carbon boots are the top of the line, i've never skated them but apparently they ride very nicely.

What's every ones go-to frame style. I've been riding Ground Control 2's for the past year or so, but I don't feel so comfortable doing H-block grinds on them.

Also, does anyone have a picture of their P-Box they can share?

makio, frontside, backside, royale, soul, fishbrain, mizou, pornstar, acid, backside, pudslide, fastslide, and basic jump tricks like 360s and fakis 360s. Eventually try to learn all of them both ways.

learn each both ways. so learn frontsides both ways, then backsides, then souls both ways... and so on. this will be frustrating but will help HUGE in the long run. you don't have to have the grinds absolutely mastered before you move on, just be able to do them both ways to some extent.

I think ally oop is because your spinning into the rail so it locks you in better. Zero spins generally get underrated but zero spin negatives are pretty cool.
