I have to say I am all for it, 100 cells at the blastocyst stage don't make a human being.

im for it, it helped that one guy who had lip cancr and they had to remove his jaw, so they used stem cell info to grow a new jaw on his shoulder and then moved it into place. Pretty cool shit

im for it with the methods where they dont use aborted fetuses. but i think its horrible when they use aborted fetuses

I'm talking about research that might provide the cure for cancer guys....they can modify the stem cells (which are the cells all of us evolved from) to grow any kind of tissue and the substitute the broken stuff with fresh ...as simple as I could get it.
why is it wrong to do it on aborted fetuses? they are DEAD. sounds drastically, but the only take some cells, it's not like they blend them

they don't even have to use aborted fetus, there are other ways of procuring stem cells for research. i'm against abortion, but that's another issue, and i am definitely a supporter of stem cell research. i'm a pre-med student right now and actually looking into working with professors on research, and this is one of the things that really excites and sound interesting to me. the possibilities are amazing. i'm all for it.

im def. for it. my friend laura jackson, is is a freshman, last year for cheerleadering try outs, she had to do a backflip, and you get more ponits if you did it with out a spotter, so she did it with out. well she feel on her head, breaking her back bone... her is now she can only move her head. it is really sad. she lefted about a week ago to go to china and get this stem cell thing done. they said she might be able to be 'normal' agian.. i hope it works....

Yea there is a positive side but it is a very delicate issue and is a power that could be abused i dont think we are ready for such research right now!

what's the possible abuse of stem cell research? cloning? they might as well clone you when u go to the emergency room bleeding, cuz they can just use some of your blood, they don't need stem cells to do that anyway.
the opponents are against becasue you destroy the embryo which has a potential to become a human. However, now they only freeze them and they accumulate in cryo labs...
