Apparently he has only skied a couple times, he's just crazy! probably the first person to do a dub on both skis and snowboard and hes only 12!

Ok, much respect for the kid he rips like hell.

But the second vid pissed me off. I have seen friends and co-competitors go down on the stretcher because they went and skied above their level of ability. If you cant ski and go big, your chances are 98% sure to crash and an elevated injury factor, mostly in flipped spins. AND still, pros make a 2 year career because it was based on stuntwork than style and perfection.

What buggs me even more is the promotion of insane park hucking. Dubs are fucking everywere...and on 120foot booters. 3 kids tried tried a dub cork 10 on a 30 foot floater. All 3 finished with concussions. They were talented skiers, but common sense is lacking in our followers. The way things are going, failed dubs are going to be so common we are going to loose jumps (like so many did).

I am not protesting the fact progression is riskier, but I think as pros, people must be more aware and more encouraged to practice and to progress than just huck and win.

Meh. Sure I can't do (or haven't tried) some of the stuff he was doing, but he already can double on a snowboard. His tricks on skis were so hucked, and he didn't land them most of the time since he can't actually ski. If you can flip on one, you can at least throw it on the other.

I am not hating on him, I'm just saying we shouldn't make a big deal out of this. He's just a kid out having fun!

He can be fine in the air, but when he's riding into the jump/landing that's a whole other game. Us skiers who have mastered riding and are experienced fall a lot less and have more leway from landing perfectly because we can actually ski.

Holy fuck this. I can't even tell you how many kids switched to skiing at my mountain this year who have absolutely no clue how to actually ski. However, they're inclined to try the craziest shit. I honestly don't care if you're better than me, if you don't know how to ski properly, the way I see it, you will never get farther than a certain progression point. At some point the inability to make solid turns, be in control, and be naturally aware will catch up to you and you will get hurt.

im with you there. i snowboard and ski about 1 week a year in the summer when i get bored. i understand how to ski and have a ton of fun doing flips (backflip, switchbackflip, and flairs) but i know that i dont know how to actually ski and control my body so i have no intention on trying anything more difficult. im a huge advocate for learning the steps along the way and only throwing tricks you are about 85% sure you will get to your feet.

but this kid looked like he was having a blast so you cant really hate, didnt look like he was taking it that serious.

Not trying to take away from his skill or whatever, but that was all confidence I think. Skiing/Snowboarding/whatever is 90% mental, If you're ballsy and confident you'll try more tricks and land more tricks than someone who is a little more timid.

imho landing on blades is tough cause you have to land almost perfectly balanced. too far forward you catch your edge, too far back you slip out. longer skis would make it easier in my opinion
