Replying to Sanding tops of Afterbangs?

I had the 2012 Atomic Punx this year, and was pretty satisfied. They held up for the most part, and I liked their playfullness. But they did not completly stand up to the beating the whole year. They got ripped out edges, cracked edges and a tear in the base which led to water damage. I am looking to buy either the 2013 Punx, or picking myself up some Afterbangs. If I went with the afterbangs, would it hurt the ski in any way, or what are peoples thoughts on sanding the graphics, to get a more natural look? I need help on deciding on what skis to get. Any thoughts? I like a playfull ski, but I also need to be able to stomp landings on big jumps. Any advice or thoughts would be helpful.
