People who don't talk on T bars

I meet so many interesting people all the time if I'm on the t bar with somebody else that I don't know, tons of cool stories and stuff, and tips, and every so often there's somebody who just sits there in complete silence when I talk to them, and look dead straight forward, I've just never known why people do this...

nah they aren't listening to music, I can tell when they are, and yeah we don't have any arial lifts at my mountain which is shit, t bars and pomas... and I'm not like harassing them haha

I never ride up with anyone except for friends and family.
The one time the ski hill was busy when I was on Holiday I rode up with a Spanish/Russian Family who didnt say a word of english, A couple of beginner snowboarders who called skiing crap and A fat kid and his cousin who talked about who they hate.
Pretty much put me off the single rider queue.

If they're blatantly ignoring you that's kinda weird. But I usually let the other person start up a conversation, and if they do I usually hold a conversation with them until I get off the lift. I just usually don't start anything up since I'm fine with either just sitting there or talking.

Damn you.

I've been trying to learn that for a while now. I only get to use a t-bar like 2 times a year though. I saw a video on youtube of it like 2 years ago, and have been trying since. The few times I've tried, I have fallen, and then just been yelled at by the lifties.

Next time you're with someone like this, just turn your head and stare at them for the entire ride up. It will just be a matter of time until he/she has a nervous breakdown as you stare relentlessly through your dark goggles right into their soul.

maybe they just want to be left alone and dont like talking to people. when i go to the mtn unless im with my good friends i like to just cruise all by myself and get into my world.

T-bars are the shit.

I hate it when people don't talk though. Once I met this guy who like searched for Spanish gold in New Mexico and later had a bad stroke that caused him to go into a coma for months and had to relearn how to do everything, he was one of the most interesting people ever. Still see him sometimes.

Lol thread full of win. I once had to go with stranger on t bar since there was so full in the hill and it was a must. He was a snowboarder about 3 yrs younger than me.. he wore thalls poc helmet and had oakleys goggles so i figured out hes up for some park, i asked something "any cool tricks?" and he just said no, i replied "well keep doing it" or something :D  and when we left he curved left wheres alpine ski racing tutorial hour for snowboarding or something like that.

do it where the wire is high off the ground, then when the rope tightens you´re pulled more upwards than forwards. If that makes sense... My hill has the perfect spot to do it on but the lifty freaks out if he sees anyone messing around.

I used to ride goofy when I snowboarded and it was allways bad when you rode up with another snowboarder who rode regular which seemed to be most of them

People who don't talk on lifts in general suck. I love talking to people that you meet via the singles line. Even if they're Texas gapers, you probably have something in common to talk about.
