everyday I wake up and check the snow report. If there is a foot or more of nwe snow overnight I skip school instatly, don't even think about it. Call in sick pretend I'm my dad.

Dude I feel you so much right now. Im at OSU studying for finals and all I wanna do is watch the webcams and jerk off. Hopefully there will be some leftovers friday night. Looks like the storms gonna slow down for next week unfortunetaly.

Wow. this turned into a serious thread.

BTW I found a ride up after school, and the night skiing was still amazing. Meadows gets cut up fast though, so it was mostly stash-hunting in the trees.

Sucks for you guys on the East with no snow. I genuinely pity you.

I don't, however, take my fortune for granted. I thank my parents every day for choosing to live here, and I work hard at my local shop to buy my own gear.

not this storm, its about 15 deg up at the mountain. its dry. and yes i have skied dry snow.

but yes nine times out of ten its wet. but then again. it makes you a stronger skier.

Absolutely.

I actually perfer it a little heavy. I've skied lighter pow, and it doesn't really "catch" you when you drop off a cornice or cliff. it was right in between cement and fluff last night, really nice stuff.

45 degree slopes dont exist on Mt Hood's ski areas..... That being said the snow was surprisingly light in the morning. You gotta learn to surf when it gets heavy.

yea ive been skiing deep fluffy blower right to the valley bottom for the past 2 or 3 weeks in whistler...

and too bad the steepest slopes in utah are only 45 degrees....

you've probably only skied in WA... after you ski 3% water content snow, even 'light' snow at like 7-8% water cotent is heavy as fuck.

you've probably only skied in UT.. after you ski 20% water content snow your balls will drop and you 'll realize you dont need any less

ha, untrue. Ive skied my share of heavy pow, i prefer the light stuff. Yes, heavy snow is great for filling in lines and creating a good base (UT will get heavy snow storms) but people who say they like heavy snow more than light snow are simply lying to themselves.
