A kid at my local beach got attacked by a shark yesterday. Only a few bites to his leg. He got really lucky. Apparently fell off his board directly into the sharks mouth.

Couldn't find the picture.

there are a few legit documentaries out there that really show how sharks are: calm and only dangerous when you act dumb.

there is this guy, dunno his name, who swims with all sorts of dangerous sharks without protection (like in the vid) and once he even was swimming in the midst of a dozen pieces of meat he threw in there earlier. it was pretty obvious that sharks dont have that "frenzy" or whatever. of course they get a little hyped up and stuff but its not like they bite into everything they can find.

most surfers would NOT survive a shark attack if the shark would actually go for it. its more like a nosy kid with a knife trying to find out what that thing is.

like in the vid, that diver pretty much ended up sitting atop the shark and conventional wisdom would suggest that the shark should fuck some shit up. instead he was just showing that he is the fucking boss in that environment and its not cool to touch the nose of a shark. dont touch the nose. apparently you should try to shove him aside, but dont punch/touch his nose.

off topic sort of but i really like sharks.
