Out of Bounds: Tales From The Backcountry
Photographer Call for Entry
The Whistler Arts Council is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Coast Range Heliskiing in presenting a photo exhibition on the theme: Out of Bounds: Tales from the Backcountry.
The exhibition will feature approximately 26 photographers from the Sea to Sky Corridor and Lower Mainland with images of skiing and snowboarding taken in the backcountry of British Columbia, whether accessed by foot, snowmobile, helicopter, watercraft or dogsled. Maurice Young Millennium Place will host all exhibiting photographers throughout the month of February 2005, while “satellite� venues in Whistler Village including cafes, retail stores and hotel lobbies will feature additional images by participating photographers.
Coast Range Heliskiing is also proud to sponsor a People's Choice Award for Best of Show. One photographer and one member of the voting public will win a free helicopter skiing trip with Coast Range Heliskiing. Winners will be announced at the end of February 2005.
Eligible entrants include amateur and professional photographers living in the Sea to Sky Corridor and Lower Mainland (Lillooet to Lions Bay, West & North Vancouver, Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Richmond, Delta, White Rock, Surrey, Langley, Pitt Meadows, Port Moody, Maple Ridge).
An impartial jury will select approximately 26 photographers in amateur and professional categories to exhibit selected works. Submissions will be judged on artistic merit, composition, technical skill and adherence to show theme Out of Bounds: Tales from the Backcountry (no chairlifts please!).
