Wondering if anyone knows how to do a power calculation to work out the required number of participants for a study, without using statistical software.
The effect size of a previous study is 0.52
The alpha will just be .05
the beta will be 0.8
independent t test
Really don't know if you need any more information as i suck at statistics. any help would really be appreciated. Also, i'm looking for an equation or the steps how to do it, as i have to include it within the proposal, and can't just use software.
