The Krooked Zip Zinger Nano sounds like it could be a good board for you. I mean it's a 28" or 29" long board (one of the two not positive) so that's like about 2-3 inches shorter than a normal skateboard deck
It functions as a dope short cruiser but you can ride it as if it were a normal skateboard with snappy turns and good control in a campus environment. It has a surf style shape but with nice concave and a nice tail and nose with have good pop on both ends. I mean you can do just about any tricks on it that you can do on a normal skateboard, ollie up curbs, pop over stairs and obstacles you may encounter that you other wise wouldn't be able to dodge on a longboard or penny cruiser.
Buy some 3/8 or 1/4 inch risers, hardware with proper length to accommodate the riser's then go and buy some soft o-tangs or other longboard wheels to your liking.
But i mean like in all honesty you can just use an old skateboard set up and put on some soft wheels and good bearings and have the same effect.
Hope this helps or gives you a little insight at least.
