VCD on a DVD player?

I dont have a dvd drive on my computer, but i was wondering if i could copy an .mpg file as a VCD or something like that, and play it on a dvd player.

some of the slightly higher end dvd players will play vcd. or you coudl get a dvd burner for $40 ar office max. dvds are only like $.50 a pop now too.

even some lower end dvd players will pay vcd now too, it jsut depends. also, it is like lower quality then vhs, just to warn ya. like its not that horrible, like it is worth watching it still if you like the movie or whatever....
