Replying to Armada alpha 1s??

Hey guys! So ive been seriously considerig a pair of alpha 1's from my local shop, which I can get for a pretty good deal. I just have a couple of questions about them. 1)How will they do as an eastern Ice/groomer ski, you know, your average vermont conditions. 2) I notice their odd shapeof the frint of the skis, what is that alteration's purpose and what effects does it have on the performance of the ski in the park, on groomers, etc...
