if taking things out of context were worthy of prizes, this article owuld have all teh stuffed animals. the part where he says that 'if moore thinks these iraqis are revolutionaries, the guy who beahed nick berg is a paul revere' just blew me away. It's disgusting that someone would try to say this. No one in their right mind can say that. it's sickening to think whoever wrote this article is trying to make it look like all liberals are ignorant and believe ONLY what michael moore tells them. it's quite hypocritical in that way. In fact, I thought it was a poorly written opinion piece at best.

i agreed with basically all of that and i think most of that makes sense, the point is that so many leftist people are on the moore bandwagon that it seems the whole democratic party worships him so i would think that his views definitely reflect their views, and if so many people support him and do not agree with his views about the war on terror why does he have such a strong liberal support group, and i didnt see any liberals condemning michael moore for his views so im pretty sure that most liberals share michael moore's views, maybe a few enlightened liberals like jd may and yourself dont share his views, but i seem to remember both of you supporting michael moore in other threads, this seems to show me that flip-flopping is also a democratic trend

I support michael moore, yes. I've said that he does twist some facts. I just don't think that he's a terrorist sympatiser like some people say. NOR do i think his movie was at all communist... I'd done with arguing though, it's pointless.

Agreeing with some of the things a guy says does not mean you support everything he says. Sometimes I don't even agree with him, but he raises a good point nonetheless. Again, that doesn't mean I unreservedly support him. I'm glad he's there, though.

i thought the guy had some good points, er, was good at pointing out the obvious. that michael moore quote doesnt need to be attached to any sort of qualifying statement to stand as completley rediculous. (the one about insurgents being freedom fighters), and ive heard multiple times that hezbollah has helped distribute his film in the middle east. if thats something that you think is a-ok, well, then, i guess you and i just have different standards of whats okay in this instance. being glad that moore is there is fine, i guess... i mean, he stirrs things up to be sure.

this article wasnt really about michael moore so much though. it was about the increasingly radical nature of many american liberals. al gore, howard dean, tom daschel, ted kennedy, and yes, even the venerable presidential canidate kerry. they love to hammer over and over again rhetoric of (said in a droning kerry voice) 'this....president... mis-led aaaamericaaa, ., , he went to waaar unjustly, and underr false pretenses... etc etc.

for crying out loud. how do people still buy this crap? how does al gore get a pass when he openly proclaims that our president has 'betrayed america' ? thats rediculous. i guess its fine for these guys to go and slander the right all they want, (and im not talking about the radio or tv guys here like franken or moore, im talking about legit political figures) but the second that there might have been a statement from anysort of republican of prominance that might bear a slight sembalance of 'questioning someones patriotism' these guys just go through the roof. its out of control.

i just dont see how horowitz is wrong in saying that the left is getting more and more fanatical. (this statement is in regards to actual leaders like the aforementioned senators, ex governers, and dnc reps like terry mcaullif.)

There are certainly fanatics on both sides, but I'm sorry, those on the right are far, far worse than anyone like Franken or Moore. Coulter suggested that Liberals be executed to serve as an example to others. What is that? I don't see any prominent leftist suggesting someone assassinate Bush... and if he was as despised as he is by so many people, but a liberal rather than a conservative, I have little doubt he'd have been shot by now. Sometimes I think the only reason he HASN'T been is because the hippies don't have guns... anyways, you can't attribute fanaticism to one ideology alone. It's nonsensical.

I've heard all the reasons. yes, I think something should've been done in Iraq. I was 100% for the war when it first started. hell, I drove around town blasting 'bombs over baghdad' for weeks. however, things have changed. I don't see why we went there now that the things I believed (WMDs) are not there. I am so happy Saddam is gone, but I think we've done a lot more damage then good there. I traveled a lot this summer abroad, and knowing that the world hates the US because of the war really bothered me. I see far more reasons to oppose the war then to support it. I don't need moore to tell me how to think, becuase I have my own views and feelings. I think for a lot of uninformed people though, it's a good movie to see to expose them to reality, even if it is somewhat twisted.

America's role in the world is NOT attacking countries all over the place 'liberating' people. Liberating by force creates fear, hatred and it triggers more terrorism and violence.
Frantz Fanon, in his 'Wretched of the Earth' explains quite well, why the 'natives' do not greet the 'liberators' with smiles on their faces.

lets turn back to our ethical roots of judaeochristianity and Socrates and walk the path of non-violence...will it make you look like pussies? possibly. Will it cause innocent Americans to die? see, while realistically there probably never be world peace, starting with the attitude that man is inherently flawed is a catalyst for all of the hate. yes i understand that it seems like some kind of psycho babble... but its physically proven that what you think has direct effect on everythign else... youre brain builds the chemicals it thinks you want... so make an effort to fix things instead of patching or quelling the resistance to your desired solution.

that means you have to blow up the WHOLE GLOBE to stop terrorism. It will never work. Look at Plaestinians and Izraelis...they've been blowing each other up for 20+ years now...see the results? I don't care if the terrorists strike again, I am ready to be blown up for what I believe in. They are only reacting to Amercan foreign policies. If the US stops, and protects its borders, they will eventually stop (although that might take some time) I don't think world will ever experience total peace; but violence only fuels the wars, it does nothing to the causes, it only deals with the results...it's reactionary

bigJ...foreign policy-wise, the US has screwed up wherever it was possible. Some facts to consider...

the US uses 76% of all the Earth's resources
the US's population is 5% of the Earths...

now, the US is ready to intrvene overseas, to attack SOVEREIGN countries, in order to preserve these resources and secure that Americans can have 5.7 liter Hemis to go grocery shopping (that is totally a necessity)

Well...some people are just ready to kill for this.

BUT, that is not the only reason. Read Huntington's 'Clash of Civilizations' for a generalized idea, why the cultural differences cause violence. civilizations as he describes them, might not be meaningful entities, but the presence of a Westerner in the MIddle East is disturbing, even if he is on vacation. If he happens to carry a M16 assault rifle and his mission is (along with liberating Iraqis) to protect the resources his family in the US is wasting, then people might be angry at him.

Again, this are still not all the reasons; but you know what? I am going to write my paper on stem cell research now, cuz I gotta hand it in tomorrow, haha...later

Horowitz is probably one of the most intriguing conservative authors out there today. His background is amazing. In the late 60's, early 70's, Horowitz was a liberal extremist. He made Michael Moore look like a moderate. He was in the heart of the anti-war movement and was involved in every liberal underground function one could imagine.

Horowitz slowly began to see the truth behind the liberal extremists in all factions and began to reconsider his postitions. it was when the Black Panthers killed Horowitz's childhood friend (another liberal) that he stepped backed and looked at all the problems he and his liberal allies had created, how radical and extreme they had become. Horowitz began to take a deeper look at Conservative rationale and finally began to understand the reason behind the Republican thought process.

Anyways that was just a brief summary of the guy. The full story behind his political transormation is truly one of the most interesting stories I have heard. The guy is a genius nad he has battled on the front-lines for both political agendas.

^^Only a conservative would make a post like that and then have 'Jesus Saves' in his signature. Didn't Jesus teach rightiousness, do unto others? Now I'm not a religious person by any means, but if you're going to blatantly proclaim your love for Jesus, at least try not to be such a hypocrite.
