Ok so I've pretty much decided I want ar7's because you can ski allmountain with them, or so i've heard. But obviously they don't sell completes. :(

Anyways I'm a noob. this will be my first season not skiing on rentals and i want to buy my gear. i don't know how much boots or bindings cost. Nonetheless where to buy any of that shit apart from my local shop. Including poles btw. Clothes... irdgaf.

I just need some help on bindings boots and poles. Thank you guys before hand.

Tyrolia makes good bindings and are like 300 hundred dollers, tyrolia makes elan, 4frnt binding as well. But Seriously i love dalbellos boots but are very expensive but solomon spk boots are a big step up from rentals and for poles i mean armada poles are really good.

I reccomend getting line chronics because they are a bit wider than ar7 and have better all mountain performance and still kill it in the park I have them and find the flex to be perfect, they were my first twin tip and I progressed a lot with them. I recomend getting them from evo because they are 350 right now and you could get dynastar PX 12 on their outlet for 110. For boots you should go to your local shop and get fitted.

It really depends on what type of skier you are. Marker and Look are good brands for bindings (I have Look PX10s) and you could probably check evo.com's outlet for some good boots like Lange and Tecnica for great prices. As for the poles....dont get anything too crazy. just get a pair that work for you (I use Line poles)

Look binding are the worst, lange boots will rape your shins and line chronics arent a durable ski at all.

No. Sorry but my Lange RX 130 pro that fit me are the best boot ever. I ski in like 10 model of boots that fit me and they are the best.

I have had the chronics for 2 seasons and they have held up decently well. Youll want something around 175 if you are just new to the park scene.

Definitely get bigger than 160, go like 175 or so. Check out the Line Masterminds, they are geared towards beginners. But I Have AR7's and live them, they are super durable and are alright for all mountain. Mainly for park though.

Get boots that fit, some examples are Salomon, Dalbello, or Full Tilt. Get any binding for starting out, just make sure they are flat without a riser plate, unlike most rentals. Get twin tips that come to eye level or so. Get rockered park skis if you want to ski easier, but get non-rockered park skis if you want to learn to turn/edge/ski properly at the beginning. Don't bother with a symmetrical ski just yet. Get any poles that fit you.

please leave, you're embarrassing yourself...none of that is true.

1) Look PX 12s are arguably the best low din binding on the market and pretty cheap too.

2) A boot that fits you won't rape your shins...it's best to just go to a shop, get fitted, buy what was recommended and then have the boots customized.

3) Chronics have a great reputation, in my time on NS I've heard a plethora of good things about them, specifically that they're pretty durable.


I'm going to ask you to lurk a bit more in GT before you start giving stupid, uneducated advice.

good luck on getting a nice setup. one thing I would recommend - the boot is the most important piece of gear. You cant ski good skis in ill fitted boots - but you can ski a crappy ski in a good boot that fits you perfectly. read the top thread on boots. "Multo importante si"

look makes some of the best bindings out there, the p18 is bomber.

lange makes great boots, please tell me how they will rape your shins?

how can you recommend someone dabelos and then spks in the same damn sentence and knowing nothing about their foot! dabelo has a 98 last and spk is much much wider.



OP:

ar7's are a great ski choice i love mine, get a binding that is simple, you dont need a pivot style, get something like a px12/griffon(if you are light).

for boots you really need to get fitted, it will help SO much.

I've decided to look for px12's on evo.com outlet, and find ar7s on here, craigs, or at my shop. Boots i'll obviously have fitted. Plus i'll probably get hooked up cause i know the owner :3

up until about 2/3 of the way through the thread, this was possibly the worst shit i have ever seen in GT.

to OP, good choice with getting fitted, you won't regret it. just make sure to be fitted by a reputable bootfitter who knows what they are doing, not just a "fitter" who essentially is no more than the guy who sells shoes in stores in the mall. px 12s seem pretty good for you too. i rode the px series for awhile, they performed fine, i had no release troubles. about a month ago though i snapped a brake clear off, and had to replace it, luckily only for 25 bucks. i'm glad you seem to be making some good decisions after some of the bs that was in the beginning of the thread. and as for skis, i have no experience with ar7s, so good luck with them.

i just feel like commending the OP, a self admitted noob, has waded through some deep bullshit. good luck getting a sick setup.

if you are getting the AR7's, you may aswell get the armada poles which are only like 20 bucks. goggles get some oakleys or smith's, jacket get an armada cheap jacket and get some pants off them or a brand like DC or ripcurl which have good pants but are cheaper! bindings get some markers ($$$) , salomons ($$) or even look pivots ($$)

Bindings MARKER FOR SURE (THE JESTER) LOOK EM UP

OLSO TRUE CENTER MOUNT ON SKIS

Helmet: Giro Shiv 2, Smith Maze, Smith Holt, Bern helmets, TSG helmets, POC helmets and Pro Tec

goggles: Dragon APX or Electric EG2's if your face is wide enough XD

poles: joystick, line skis, scott team issue or K2

ALLWAYS FIT BEFORE BUYING

Yes i was kidding, my chronics were a fun skis, and lange boots if fitted are just like any other boot and look bindings are pretty good as well just messing around, didnt know it would cause that much confusion.

For starters poles don't matter. Get anything with a grip that's comfortable rentals whatever. As for skis and stuff check getboards.com thy have good deals sometime. Also you can get sick stuff in bst in here.
