movies are always underdone compared to the books. There's always more in the books, and you imagine it in your own way. Didn't read the book or books. Just thought the movie was mediocre.

not gonna read all four pages of this thread. but i saw the movie tonight, it was pretty good but SO not worth the hype. I liked Battle Royale much better.

Just saw it yesterday with the GF and having only seen BR but not having read any of the books, i really enjoyed it!

definitely worth watching!
Also, i want a muthafucking bow so i can shoot apples out of pigs !

I actually thoroughly enjoyed all three of the books. I find that though this series is directed towards teenagers, it holds much more literary value than other books in the same genre. It does address certain issues and makes you think a bit more about things than other books in the same genre do.

Though the first movie was great i think that the rest will get progressively worse. The other books are too much based around her narration. She barely even talks in the third book. I feel that the movies are just going to become very cheesy and lame, complete with shitty CGI. I'll still go see them, but i doubt they will do the books justice.

i think the issue is which parts they chose to go into detail with. it wouldve been better with less time spent on the intro and more time in the arena

i got really angry when katniss gives prim the mockinjay pin....THATS NOT AT ALL WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED! ...also the soup sent in the acctual games was supposed to be lambstew!!! what fucking excuse do you have to explain that one huh?? end rant

Thats exactly how I felt. Everything develops in the arena so I dont know why they would cut it down on that part.

Loved the books. Saw it yesterday. Didnt like how they portrayed peeta though. I loved him in the books and the movie made him seem like an ass. Katniss though...me gusta.

no, i mean peeta. I dont know why but peetas whole crush thing seemed way more fake and strategic than in the book. I actually felt sorry for gale more in the movie. Oh, and the ome scene where thresh really plays a part? Fucking awesome.

Well i think the general consensus is that peeta got the short end of pretty much every stick in the entire series. Favorite book character.

Only after being stabbed, beaten, legally dead, tortured, etc. Not to mention the 2+ times where katniss straight up rejected him. Oh and that trackerjacker shit. And they devote like maybe a paragraph to them getting it on in the end. Oh well.
