Icelantic gypsy

i have the same question

DISCLAIMER: I have never rode the Gypsys but based on their shape I think I can make a few generalizations.

i've seen other threads about the gypsy's and other people who've never rode them say the same thing that 125 rockered skis wont work on piste. i thought the same thing but some reviews say they rip groomers, ii'll have to demo a pair

I'm 6"1' and 155lbs and i rode the 180 cm version of these skis early season at an Icelantic demo at Loveland.  First off, there was hardly and snow, but judging on the waist and rocker I assume they kill untracked and soft snow (watch Josh Stack's and Leigh Powis' segments in "The Grande Bizarre for and idea).  On groomers they were surprisingly manageable, more so than previous powder skis I've have ridden( JJ's and Hellbents) . Even managed to float some 180s off some knolls and carve switch, which these skis do quite well for how big they are. They are relatively light for a powder ski too (the 180 weighs 10.2 lbs I believe). Overall these would be a very great ski IN MY OPINION.

Icelantic is a great company that make some of the highest quality skis on the market and they stick by their product, offering a 2 year warranty on any skis.

they'll be awesome in powder and they do have some snap to them so i think they'd be a fine soft groomer ski. i really like my new lifes on groomed and the gypsy's are fairly similar in terms of shape.

I have rode these a few times and let me just say, these are straight dank. kill it in the pow, really nice lively and playful float, but charge hard and can stomp big airs. like said above, very lightweight and not too much swing weight for a big pow ski. Take it from someone who has ridden the ski, these are probably the best dedicated pow boards for the hard pack that i have ridden, and probably among the best out there for that matter. The matching rocker/edge really does help and you can feel them initiating some pretty nice carves. As if these skis weren't sick enough, they can do all the previously listed tasks but switch as well.

Icelantic is a dope company and you should get these skis to support em and not to mention the graphics are on point year after year.

I've been riding the nomads and I can't believe it took me so long check out these guys, the gypsy will mot likely be the next ski I add to my quiver. Amazing quality, quite light, I'm stoked to check out the gypsys (and maybe the keepers too).

Anyone have any idea of the gypsy flex? like how stiff in comparison to hellbents or chetlers or caylors or something in that range?

It is stiffer than hellbents but not I wouldn't really call it stiff, its kinda smack dab in the middle.

I'm 5 foot 8, 175, and own the 190. Logged probably 60(70?) days on them. I was originally apprehensive about the length -- until i got on 'em. I've got mine mounted 3 back from true center.
