Looking to buy foam? Any advice?

Not sure if this is supposed to be in WTB.
Here's the deal. A fellow newschooler and i are looking to buy some sort of foam pad to protect us when we hit the ground. It will be used to cushion things like wall flips, slacklining tricks, etc. We have looked at numerous bouldering crash pads and they are just a little pricey. Same with gymnastics pads. I was wondering where I could find cheap open-cell foam. Maybe multiple thinner sheets or just one thick 6+ inch sheet. What type of stores should i look into, or any cheap online retailers?
+k for any help
-k for hate/calling us pussies for not just trying it.

What about a cheapass/used mattress? Cover it with a sheet or mattress pad and dont worry about the nasties, not like your gonna sleep on it. You could probably get like 5 queen mattresses for free off craigslist.

Ya that is the first thin we thought of too, but it would be to hard to transport and my parents said they didn't want a piece of shit mattress sitting on the lawn.

so no mattress, but a piece of foam the same size is ok? Explain the logic in that one...parents. I cant think of anything else that is 'cheap' other than buying a bunch of those egg carton mattress pads, but youd need like 8 of those, and at $20 a pop, thatll add up. On the other side, you can easily move those and store em.

it doesn't have to be like a queen size mattress, one thing I got was the cushion of an old couch and I think it would be perfect for what you are describing.
