Looking for hard critique for a contest.

I was just making this video for fun but my sister showed me a contest I can enter at her College. The prize is only a GoPro, but it seems fun none the less. Before I enter though I want a hard critique.Right now I am missing an intro and ending which will be filmed in the next few days. Also no color correction and yes I know it is overexposed, it was incrediby sunny and I didnt want to boost my shutter and aperture to much. So I will fix that also. Mostly want a critique on the editing and which cuts need to be fixed up and which shots to take out ext... but feel free to comment on the filmaking and video.

it seems like you had enough good shots to trim out about 50% of the ones that dont really matter and still have a decent length edit short and sweet is better

but if you want a hard critique:
-you have really good footage
-but its killed by that fact that 50% of that edit is pointless filler
-clean up the cuts. like a lot.
-wayyy too choppy at this point.
-cross fades/dissolves = yes
-you have good transition shots, improve them (less choppy)
-the song is slow (not a bad thing AT ALL), use this to your advantage by using a lot more slow mo
-if you can afford to, dont use the shots where the peoples head are cut off

conclusion:
filler = out.
slow mo = yes
cross dissolve/fade = yes
smoothhh out the edit
portray the song's mood/speed through your footage
use only the best footage

btw, im not hating, im critiquing haha

Thanks man! Yeah I wanted more of a fast paced edit and I was trying to get all of my friends in there, whether it be one shot or a few. But thank you! I sort of got screwed over because my computer with sony vegas crashed so I lost everything. Now I have the mp4 from off vegas on my lap top but I have to go through and cut every single shot to fix it up and it is going to be a pain.

and get rid of more than half of those shots and only use your best stuff

a 4 minute edit is really long

take out the shots where most of the rider isn't even in the shot

filming wise you need to really do a better job of keeping your subject in frame, backing up helps

i would take out the sloppy shots and shorten it up and it would be a lot better

Alright, thank you! Yeah I was shooting at 18mm. I'll back up some more though, and my friend was fiming a few shots of me(im in the fd pants). Also my DIY glidecam is still a little hard to get used to. Since my computer crashed im going to rework everything, thank you!
