This was actually my friend's idea, but what if you took wooden snow fencing and plastic construction fence, and stapled the plastic one the to wood? Staples on the edge of the wood of course. This way you would be above the grass so you could keep speed better, and you could easily roll it up for a quick clean up.
I think it might have been his dad's idea even. Do you think that this alone will allow you to have enough speed? I'm debating whether I should buy turf or do this. But I need turf for the jump anyways.
It's very much dependent on the slope you have, but yes in theory it should be the same as having any sort of ladder style drop in covered with construction fence. The only thing I would maybe worry about is keeping it tight which shouldn't be too hard if you use a couple of pegs/ posts.
If you didn't want to buy the snow fencing, I'm thinking you could supplement it with scrap wood also. I think I will do the wood fencing for the run in, and buy a small amount of turf for the jump and landing.
