As maybe others have seen in various threads I've talked about my awesome opportunity to study abroad next year in Germany! Now I'm not too familiar with mountain ranges and local stuff outside of some areas that I have previously spent time in such as Hannover and Berlin. What I was wondering is if any German NS'ers could point me in the right direction of the best places in Hessen (the state I will be living in) both park and mountain wise to look into hitting up during my stay next year. Any other helpful information is welcome as well.

obviously living quite a few kilometres away in austria, i seriously dont know shit. but i am pretty sure that you have to hit the alps for anything even remotely legit.
depending on where you are some 3-6 hours i would estimate.
but maybe there is a small resort somewhere in the mittelgebirge.

you probably mean 2 seperate towns
garmisch-partenkirchen
and
berchtesgaden
