I was just wondering if there were many amauter competitons out there for people like me (around 15 years old) who only manage to get out once a week. Are they usually club competitions or open competitions, also how are they divided by ability? Links would be much appreciated! Thanks.

depends where you are, where im from they divide everyone into age groups not skill levels, and you should be a pretty steady skier before you start competing, its stressful as fuck and if you not 100% ready your gunna fuck up.

its not stressfull at all. i go, do what i feel like doing. i dont even think up my run i just go. the kids that are very serious about it are annoying as shit. and most of the serious ones suck.

I'm competing in my first rail jam/slopestyle competition thus upcoming weekend. Since there is a lack of skiers, they are throwing everyone together into one group. I'm not gonna be serious as shit about it, I'm just gonna go have a good time and not stress about anything..

Pretty much this. You sign up, go hit some features. You most likely won't win but you might get some free shit and you get to hangout with friends. It also provides an atmosphere where you will want to push yourself. Don't enter comps with the mentality of you gotta win, just enter and have fun that is what competing is about.

true, ill rephrase myself, I get stressed out, dont nessisarily take it seriously because i know i have little chance of winning but i'd rather be just lapping park then in a comp.
