if only wiz kept to the music he was making during the prince of the city era... flight school was the last of wiz's good music. since then hes gone downhill. if you think that track was good, chances are you started listening to him after he dropped black and yellow

And Yeah. I only every really listen to Show and Prove and Flight School. Hands down the best two albums I've ever listened to. And that song isn't shitty. If you have a negative opinion good for you? I could care the fuck less. It's music, no one has the same taste.

Story Relevant.


So at Summer Camp Music Festival in Illinois last summer, Wiz Khalifa happened to be there. Unfortunately many of my friends whom I went to HS with wanted to go see him. Seeing as nothing special was playing during his 4:00 set I decided I'd just go to see how it was. Wiz Khalifa then proceeded to do the single most BADASS thing he could at that moment, he let his DJ spin an incredibly shitty hip hop set until 4:20 as to keep his awesome image and came out on stage smoking a J. He started with that "I got money, I got hoes" song and I immediately turned around walked away from his show.


Sparknotes: Wiz is a loser.

but rap isn't my favorite genre so this is not in fact my FAVORITE song ever. Just a rather good one.

Here's my last little bit on the matter. Music is subjective. Everyone gets off to their own favorites which they form from the way a melody, a lyric, a genre of song, or instrument makes them feel (that list could continue forever). You like what you like and no one can change that. I'm not trying to.


BUT from a musicians standpoint there is A LOT of music that doesn't get half the attention it should, from a technicality standpoint. There are such better MCs than Wiz Khalifa skill wise, but his subject matter is what makes him popular..


I'll make one analogy and then just leave it at that.

Wiz Khalifa is to rap as Fall Out Boy was to whatever alternative music used to be...

Of course there's no direct correlation between someones intelligence and what music they listen to. But how can you honestly defend Wiz, even just lyrically, on any level. It's terrible "lyricism" if you even want to go as far as to put it in that category. All he talks about is how much weed he smokes and bumblebees, and a bunch of 13 year old sheeple love it.

Why the fuck do some kids on here have to prove they know quality/classic Hip Hop? We get it, you know your roots and so do I, but I love Wiz. Yes, his lyrics are repetitive and don't convey a quality message, but that doesn't mean he isn't fun to listen to. Trust me, I love Big Pun, Ghostface, and Mobb Deep, but when you're partying, Wiz is great.

And people who just straight up don't like the guy, I definitely respect that, but it annoys me when people think classic Hip Hop is the only Hip Hop.
