Splice LENS halp

I've searched a read quite a bit but I have many options.  I need a lens for sunny days with little cloud.  The VR28 looks so good because those browner tints always liven up colours and create more contrast i.e. between trees and snow.  Choices are:

 Dark Grey...$39...Oakley product # 01-045...This lens is best for medium to bright light conditions. Light Transmission 17%

Emerald iridium...$69...Oakley product #01-041...This lens is best for medium to bright light conditions...Light Transmission 11%

Blue iridium...$69...Oakley product #02-114...This lens is best for medium to bright light conditions. This lens uses a VR28 lens tint with the Blue iridium coating for enhanced contrast as well as glare reduction. Light Transmission 30%

VR28 POLARIZED...CLEARANCE $85 (regular $125)...Oakley product #02-185...This lens is best for medium to bright conditions. This lens uses a VR28 lens tint for increased contrast with HD Polarization for glare elimination. Light transmission 14%

Dark Grey POLARIZED...CLEARANCE $95 (was $125)...Oakley product #02-187...This lens is best for medium to bright light conditions with HD Polarization for glare elimination. Light Transmission 21%

Is polarized worth it??  The BLUE iridium looks interesting with a vr28 tint but blue coating.  Emerald looks good but 11% transmission looks like it'd be annoying when if and when clouds roll in...

The VR28 polarized looks the best for the sunniest days, and brown tints make colors better?

I use the vr28 but in the normal version. I like it a lot. when I ski i go from bright on the hill to shade in the trees and back, and it is so versatile and with a good contrast. I find that darker lenses don't do the job well when i'm out of the sun.

Yeah I had dark grey before, but when the clouds rolled in...it really made thinks gloomy, it shows when you take them off your eyes to compare.  Even though vr28 polarized is 14% trans. and dark grey is 17%, the extra contrast from the vr28 would probably make things appear more vivid/bright anyways.  My mountain is like that, one half sun baked, one in the shade.  I have bronze polarized oakley sunglasses and they are like HD wraparound awesome

Grey base tint doesn't help at all in low light haha. I would stay away from that if you're looking for an all around lens. Something with a vlt in between 25-35% like the vr28 or Blue Iridium would be best. You could also wait until Oakley comes out with next years lenses and buy the Pink Iridium (37% VLT). Polarized is definitely a good option if you ski glaciers in the summer or any harsh sunny weather

I got a low-light lens and I need a sunshine lens, though not necessarily bluebird skies all the time, just mainly sunny

I have a blue Iridium lens on my crowbars and it works very well in all light conditions except for when it is snowing or at the end of the day on a cloudier day. It works great on sunny days and it even works well at night. I would definitely recommend this lens as it is very versatile.

Came here to say this. I've got the Blue Iridium on my Splices and for everything that you wouldn't use a low light for they are great. Awesome for the bluebird days, and great for when the clouds roll in. Just like every other lens (the non low light versions) it has trouble when the sun gets low and the light gets flat. However, I would definitely recommend it.

After trying out lots of dark lenses today I went with Fire Iridium because it cut glare really well and I liked the tint. For a sunny lens it really comes down to personal preference on tint and colour when looking through them. Dark grey, my old lens, was so nice but it's not a "warm" tint, more "cool."
