haha word. Someone is selling the f/2.8 IS II on craigslist for less then a grand. Killer deal. But dont know if i am ready to spend that much money on a lens.
thats probably one of the best deals your going to get. if you dont buy it and you get into photography your going to be kicking yourself in the ass. dont get me wrong the f4 is a great lens, but i love my f/2.8 ii. maybe a little heavy, but i love being able to step down to 2.8 when i really want too.
otherwise, good luck in your search, someones gotta be selling one...
This. But I have The f/4L non-is and it is amazing, tack sharp all the way through even when wide open, creamy bokeh wide open as well, such a great lens, mine was only $500.
I got mine for 480 on craigslist, but that took a while to find. My local shop has two of them for 500 used. I bet they would ship too, give them a call.
well if your budget allows you to drop 2k on a lens then yes, definitely worth it. I love the IS in it, such a handy tool to have for filming long focal lengths (i dont care what anyone says, even nice sticks can't get rid of all the micro jitters)
i read once that 1 reason that it's bad is when you have it on and you start panning, the IS tries to work against the movement for a moment. this was for video camera's IS though, not sure if it's the same or not.
