that is not an act of war. and dont try to evoke emotions or whatever with that pic. at some point you have to move on and relieve your heart of all the hate and grief. and as bad and shocking as it was, how many civilians died in afghanistan? did it better the world?
i think that the US as an apparently christian nation should have tried to "suck it up" (probably a bad choice of words, i am not a native speaker so idk how to say otherwise) and reinforce their national security more from the inside than fighting a revenge war thousands of miles away against an invisible enemy (who was eventually found in PAKISTAN). revenge and violence is never the solution and over 10 years, ten thousands body bags and hundreds of billions of dollars later, the US might have learned a lesson.
not everyone thinks trolling is as cool as you do and want to see something different on here once in a while, this is the top news story of the weekend idk why you or anyone else would complain about the thread being made
honestly, this is a lot better to see then some of the other stupid shit like 'happy birthday' threads. although i've said so much stupid shit on this site that my points are no longer valid aha
9/11 is what gave us the reason to go into war dumbass. If you didn't know we had problems with the middle east before 9/11? Of course we wanted revenge you fuck, why would we do nothing when over 2000 American citizens died? My guess is every single American wanted to kill every single terrorist/Taliban fuck out there for doing this. Not everything can be solved with your hippy ass peace ways.
For the people who say this slaughter isn't "news-worthy", I reckon your stand on the matter would change pretty quickly if the innocent people who were killed were US citizens.
If this was an afghan Mike O and the Fhenilation would be blaming the USA saying our presence pushed them to do it. Who really cares. I didn't hear you guys crying from the roof tops when 3 days in a row Afghans turned on US soliders with weapons over a fuckin book. Not condoning his actions but they are petty compared to the daily mindset and actions of the afghans
More like I don't read Reddit, the glorified God's gift to the Internet of today. Woke up, sipped mah coffee and saw this on the papers - posted. Bob's your uncle.
of course 911 was one of the main reasons that sparked america's involvement in the war but im just saying that 911 isnt exactly a perfect example of warfare in the country just because its probably the only thing closest to an example of warfare in our country
Have you made it to 8th grade social studies yet? This country has had many examples of warfare within its borders.. Civil, Revolution, Mexican-American, 1812 I could go on
Actually Kevin-G is my father. We established that in another thread. That guys point was that NSG is just a big repost machine because there are many other news sites with the same story. He wasn't saying you stole it from reddit
whoaa. so afghanistan is just important enough to have thousands of soldiers there (there are also soldiers of other nations, even austrians, i fucking know) but not important enough to talk about that?
To us it's not pushing it under the rug because every website that has news stories will be showing this. Every channel on TV that covers the news will be running this story. It's almost overload to us. We just don't want to hear about it on NSG because we'll be hearing about it everywhere else for the next 3 days
This shouldn't have happened. Anyone see Vietnam in HD? The American troops talked about how they began to hate on the peaceful Vietnamese civilians who were too frightened by the commie asshole Vietnamese to give up any information. The troops couldn't help but feel like they were responsible for any deaths to their platoon members, etc. The Taliban live amongst peaceful farmers, and these situations have driven a lot of soldiers over the edge in the entire course of history. I feel bad for the guy, he's a hero in a small, fucked up part of his mind.
Totally missing the point. The point is we say there are bigger events. We don't care about this one. That's nor sweeping it under the rug. It's us saying we don't care
And to your other post, you can say that you don't care about this event all you want, makes you look like such a caring individual, but doesn't affect the fact that it happened and it's here for discussion.
Your point about NS not browsing news. it's not even browsing. I open up firefox. Yahoo is my homepage. First thing I see is this story. To miss news like this you would have to stay on NS all day and not go to any major website
You're forgetting that children take Newschoolers more seriously than the news headlines...
I'll do many of you a favor for current events news: WWW.DRUDGEREPORT.COM ipad, someone pls hotlink it 4 me
This shit doesn't even surprise me anymore, sadly. The US military is comprised of futureless, uneducated kids who are taught to dehumanize the enemy. Does anyone really expect these brainwashed child soldiers to act any differently when they are thrown into such volatile environments?
Also loving the american responses in this thread, so typical.
mythreads to read more idiotic and most likely hypocritical responses about how it doesn't matter when a U.S. soldier guns down random Afghan civilians.
Who gives a fuck if there is a draft or not what matters is the psychological shit that a soldier goes through seeing shit blow up and people killed in front of them on a daily basis. That doesn't change whether you enlist or you get drafted it's still the same shit on a different day to a different person.
