First off, wrong forum. But to answer your question, the griffons are a very light binding, although a lot of people on here will rip on them for breaking easily. I have griffons mounted on my park skis, and I've been riding them for two years with zero problems.
But a lot of people will recommend the FKS because they are probably the sturdiest binding out there. If youre a light rider, the FKS might be a little too burly for you and i would go with the griffons. If youre heavier or just want a burlier binding, go with the fks
The way I allways look at it is don't buy a binding you don't need. So yeh f you're a light guy don't go buying high din binding, it's just a waste of money. So taking that into consideration if you have decided that all you need is a twelve din then you might want to look at alternatives to the griffon. i would reccomend the rossi axal2s/look px12 they are in all honesty the best low din binding i've ever used, they are light, durable and i've had less issues with prerelease than with my jesters (16 din).
There's really no contest here. FKS >>>>>>>> Griffon. You're comparing what many think is the best binding out there to a cheap plastic binding. FKS vs Jester would be a better comparison, and even then I would go with the FKS.
head/tyrolia is the largest and most reproduced design, aka fischer, 4frnt, head, and elan all use the head/tyrolia design. there might be a few more that use the design, cant go wrong with it
